~ 7 portraits is a mockup for a cozy narrative decorating game that doesn't exist made for the Game Mockup Jam 2024! ~

~~~~~
7 portraits is a game about unveiling seven characters' lives through their beloved belongings.
Decorate each character's tiny diorama and get to know them.
It all happens in whimsical, rustic dioramas. When starting the game, you see seven characters' portraits, all in the form of dark, mysterious silhouettes. You have to go through each of them to reveal each character's full portrait by completing their diorama.
You select a portrait, and go to the character's own diorama, where you take items from a wooden chest and place them: their shadows, that you're revealing with your lantern, are not their real shadows, but what it evokes for this character. And, by placing the items, you create a little scene with their shadows and get to know the character. For instance, in the fake screenshot of Fox's diorama, the rustic stool evokes making apple pies each autumn with their grandma, nurturing their relationship with her - hence the apple tree shadow.
Some items in a character's chest were misplaced and belong to other characters - each character has its own objects and personality and you figure out which is whose by getting to know the characters by creating scenes in their dioramas.
